Help Us Strengthen Public Diplomacy

How Your Donation Strengthens Public Diplomacy

PDCA efforts are designed to demonstrate that public diplomacy is an essential part of foreign policy and vital to our economic prosperity and national security. We focus on our mission of promoting excellence in the professional practice, academic study and advocacy.

We need your help.

Today our biggest challenge is to increase support for and understanding of public diplomacy and the ways in which its values, standards, and practices achieve national objectives and win support for our country’s policies. Our target audience consists of the American people, Congress, and the executive branch while we continue to work diligently with officials at the Department of State, other U.S. Government agencies, and non-governmental organizations with similar goals.

Your donation will make our current selection of activities possible, including speaker programs, newsletters, activity updates, awards, training, mentor relationships, advocacy, media work, seminars, and publications. We call on experts from both inside and outside the PDCA to engage with our membership and contribute to our programs. We welcome donor support for specific programs and activities, including support for the PDCA Hans ‘Tom’ Tuch Graduate Fellowship and other initiatives.

You can give through either PayPal or a credit card by selecting the "PayPal" option.  PayPal's screen will offer a selection to proceed with your credit card.  To pay by check, select the Pledge option.  That will give you an invoice with our mailing address.  To explore Planned Giving, please write to Treasurer@publicdiplomacy.org

Our volunteer-led organization runs on a lean budget and depends on member fees and contributions. Help us today by going to our Donate page at https://members.publicdiplomacy.org/members/wish/donate.php?org_id=PDCA

WAYS TO DONATE
You can select from four different options when you donate.

GENERAL DONATION  supports the PDCA core operations and programs.

TUCH GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP
Hans “Tom” Tuch, a founder of PDC, left a bequest of $100,000 to PDC in 2019. The PDC board renamed the fellowship (started in 2013) and allocated the bequest to an endowment that supports our graduate fellowship. Click here for a description of the Fellowship and its recipients. We have no paid staff other than our Fellow who works approximately 15 – 18 hours per week and receives a stipend of $1250 monthly.

COMMUNICATION FELLOWSHIP
A PDCA member, who wishes to remain anonymous, has provided a generous matching grant of $8,500 to help fund a second Fellowship for this coming year. This second Fellow would focus on supporting and amplifying our communication efforts. We need to match the $8,500 to make this a reality.

AWARDS
PDCA is continuing and expanding the popular awards program inherited from PDAA. These awards, which include a cash component, recognize excellence in the conduct of public diplomacy with emphasis on creativity, innovation, and leadership. All practitioners of public diplomacy are eligible: FSOs, locally employed staffers overseas, civil servants and contractors in STATE and USAGM, academics, and the many organizations throughout the United States engaged in exchange programs.
